Faisal Shafi and Danish Elahi, two Karachi runners, have established a world record in the Boston Marathon.
They completed the race of 26.2 miles in 3 hours and 26 minutes, becoming the first people to do it while using traditional Shalwar Kameez.
His achievement marks the first time that any corridor has finished a large marathon in less than four hours dressed in Pakistan’s national outfit.
The duo began and ended the race together, and dedicated his achievement to his country.
“This record is dedicated to all Pakistan,” Elahi said after the race.
“Establishing a record in a historical race like Boston is really memorable.” Shafi echoed his feelings, saying: “We did this to highlight the positive image of Pakistan.”
Although there is no official category to run with traditional clothing, the duo feat has been recognized by the World Guinness record as a world record.
His performance combined cultural pride with athletic resistance, attracting the admiration of other competitors.
The Boston Marathon, held for the first time in 1897, is one of the most prestigious long -distance events worldwide.
Upon his return to Pakistan, Shafi and Elahi plan to celebrate celebrations to share their milestone with the followers.
