Pakistan’s Noor Zaman wins the Squash U23 World Championship in Dha Creek Club


Noor Zaman in Pakistan won the Squash U23 World Championship, defeating Karim the Turky in Egypt 3-2 in a hard final at the Karachi Da Creek Club.

Noor Zaman of Pakistan assured the title of the Squash U-23 World Championship after a 3-2 victory over Karim El Tury of Egypt in the male final, held at Da Creek Club in Karachi.

Zaman, who proved his success to hard work and divine favor, brought home the gold medal after a tense and very disputed match.

In the female event, Firoooz Aboulkheir of Egypt left victorious after a direct victory against the fourth seed of Hong Kong, Chan Sin Yuk, ensuring the title with a 3-0 result.

Both champions received a gold medal, the winners trophy and an award of $ 5,250 each. The runner -ups received silver medals and $ 3,450 each.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated Zaman for his victory, praising him for raising Pakistan’s profile in international sport. “The whole nation is proud. God, Pakistan will claim his lost glory in pumpkin,” he said.

President Asif Ali Zardari also extended congratulations, praised Zaman for his performance throughout the tournament and expressed hope for his continuous success in the future.

Sindh’s prime minister Murad Ali Shah attended the closing ceremony as representative of the president and cheered the event as a milestone in the history of Squash. “Organizing the Squash World Squash U23 opening championship is an honor for Pakistan,” Shah said.

He emphasized Squash’s historical value in Pakistan and reiterated the government’s commitment to foster young talent and restore the country’s legacy in sport. Shah also recognized the efforts of the Pakistan Squash Federation, the Government of Sindh, DHA and the Pakistan Air Force to promote pumpkin.

The championship marked a significant moment in the Renaissance of Squash in Pakistan, with the local authorities and the World Squash Federation that express optimism about the future of sport in the region.
