Paradise Season 2 has officially wrapped filming, meaning we may not have to wait long for the gritty political thriller to return to our screens.
Season 1 followed Secret Service agent Xavier Collins (Sterling K. Brown) as he tried to discover who killed the president after a shocking murder in the first episode. Oh, and it turns out they all live in an underground bunker owned by billionaires where an apocalyptic event took place on the Earth’s surface.
The drama unfolded not only around Cal’s death, but also around the bunker and Paradise as a whole. There is still much to be developed, but fortunately with Paradise Season 2 on the way, here’s everything we know so far about the expected release date, new and returning cast, plot rumors, and more.

Paradise Season 2 Release Date
Paradise Season 2 was officially renewed on February 10, 2025, and indeed. Paradise Fashion show star Sterling K. Brown revealed the news in the palm of his hand.
And while there’s no release date yet, show creator Dan Fogelman told Deadline that there is a potential release. window when comparing it to season 1: “So if we come out in early 2025, hopefully the next season will come out in early 2026.”
And it looks like the cast and crew have officially wrapped filming with Sterling K. Brown taking to his personal Instagram to show off the final day on set in late August.
In the clip, he says, “We’re trying to give you something just as good, if not better, the second time around.” Adding the caption: “Trust you’re not ready for what’s to come.”
So it looks like they’re on track for a possible early 2026 launch for Paradise season 2. Watch this space.
Paradise Season 2 Trailer: Is There One?
there is no Paradise Season 2 trailer yet and that’s not surprising news considering we don’t have a release date.
But according to Variety, some first-look images were shown exclusively to attendees at San Diego Comic-Con in July, but they’ve been kept under wraps aside from telling us there’s a sneak peek at a new character (which I’ll reveal below).
What we do know is that the first official trailer for season 1 came out in November, before the show premiered in January 2025.
So if all the release date information we’ve managed to gather so far points towards an early 2026 launch, we might not have to wait. also much more for a trailer. When it drops, I’ll be sure to update here.
Paradise season 2 confirmed cast
It seems like the main cast should return for Paradise season 2, plus an avalanche of new characters will join the show:

The incorporation of Shailene Woodley was confirmed Paradise season 2, according to Deadline, in an undisclosed role, and as part of SDCC’s first look, fans briefly saw her as a tour guide at Elvis Presley’s Graceland.
And Woodley isn’t the only one joining season 2, as a host of new cast members have also been announced, including Gossip Girl Thomas Doherty (according to Variety) and many more.
We know a couple of characters. No However, they return for season 2, namely Trent and Billy, who died in season 1.
But there is still curiosity about whether James Marsden, like the late president Cal Bradford, will return.
In season 1, despite dying in the first episode, he appeared throughout the show in a series of flashbacks. And, speaking to Vanity Fair, he could return, possibly in a larger capacity: “I’m not sure what I’m allowed to say. Although my vague answer to your question is probably the answer to your question.”
And after the show’s success, he adds, “…I got a text from Dan saying, ‘Well, maybe you’re not dead.’ I don’t want to give false hope that I’m somehow alive, but maybe we can figure something out.”
Paradise Season 2 Synopsis and Story Rumors

Paradise It looks like season 2 will pick up where season 1 left off with many questions answered and a lot still left to do. And viewers watched as Xavier emerged from the bunker in search of his wife, Teri, which will no doubt be where season 2 begins.
What we finally know from the season 1 finale is who killed the president. spoiler alertTrent the librarian, we’re looking at you. Additionally, viewers watched as billionaire Sinatra ruled Paradise, hiding dirty secrets and covering up the story of the bunker.
But Trent and Sinatra weren’t the only villains in ParadiseJane enters. Acting as a dubious agent between Xavier and Sinatra, he eventually shoots Sinatra in the neck in a tumultuous Season 1 finale and saves Xavier’s daughter. It’s not quite clear where his loyalties lie at the moment.
For Jane in season 2, there is an entire episode dedicated just to her. Fogelman told THR, “Our sixth episode of Season 2 is called ‘Jane’ and it tells her story.” A Jane origin story? Sign me up.
And when it comes to season 2 as a whole, Fogelman told Deadline that he has big plans: “It’s fair to say that we resolved all the questions about what the bunker is and why it was created in season 1, but there’s kind of a deepening as you go into season 2 and what’s really behind it all.
“There’s intentionally more science fiction in the second season than there was in the first. And that involves climate change and the science and things that come behind it. There’s more of that survival type.” [story]. How did the people who managed to get out into the world outside the bunker do it? And we explored that in the season.”
And we also know that Xavier is heading to the surface. Also speaking to Deadline, Brown teased that life outside the bunker is the focus of season 2: “There will be an exploration of the world outside the bunker and what’s happened over the last three years, so you’ll get a chance to see some things up close and personal. It’s not the same. We were able to plan, with infrastructure and money. They weren’t, so you’ll see the difference between those two things.”
Brown also revealed that we will find out if his wife, Teri, is alive and, if she turns out to be okay, what her survival is like on the outside. So, as Xavier ventures to the surface and life in the bunker continues, there is much more to unravel. Paradise season 2.
Will there be more seasons of Paradise?
If creator Dan Fogelman has anything to do with this, there will definitely be more. Paradise to come. At least one more season.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Fogelman said: “We have this very precise three-year plan, and the next season is kind of the middle episode of our trilogy with also its own beginning, middle and end.”
Revealing: “We have a three-season story that’s bigger than people think right now, and it’s going to span a couple of genres.”
So a season 3 seems very likely, but there has been no official word yet. We’ll keep our fingers crossed!
