The president of the Muslim League of Pakistan (N) and former prime minister, Nawaz Sharif, said Friday that he is encouraging that all political parties in Parliament are united in matters related to national defense and security.
He expressed these points of view during a meeting with Senator Irfan Siddiqui, head of the PML-N Parliamentary Party in the Senate and president of the Senate Permanent Committee on Foreign Affairs, today in Raiwind.
Nawaz Sharif said that this role of parliamentarians will promote national cohesion and create an atmosphere of unity and solidarity among people.
Senator Siddiqui informed Sharif on the performance of the PML-N parliamentary party in the Senate.
He also mentioned the resolution that expresses the unity towards the national defense, which was prepared with mutual consultation and was approved unanimously in the upper house.
Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also said that while dissenting is the beauty of democracy, leaving aside all differences due to the great cause of national defense is commendable.
