Parliamentarians come together to condemn honor murders


Islamabad:

The National Assembly adopted on Wednesday a resolution that strongly condemned the illegal acts of the so -called honor murders.

Moved by Shahida Rehmani, he emphasized zero tolerance for such acts and proposed the formation of an interprovincial working group for coordinated action to stop these crimes.

The house also reaffirmed the historical and unwavering support of Pakistan for the Palestinian people and their struggle for freedom, dignity and justice.

The resolution, moved by the legislator of PPP, Shazia Marri, expressed a deep concern about the continuous and growing Israeli military aggression in Gaza, which has resulted in the murder of civilians and the generalized destruction of homes and infrastructure.

He strongly condemned recent statements and actions of the Israeli authorities that indicate plans for Gaza’s long -term occupation, the forced displacement of its population and tries to erase the Palestinian identity of the territory.

The resolution also denounced the use of hunger, siege and collective punishment as war tools, emphasizing that these acts constitute war crimes under international law.

The Chamber asked the United Nations and the international community to fulfill their moral and legal responsibilities by taking immediate and concrete measures to end Israeli military aggression in Gaza, guaranteeing the protection of civilians and guaranteeing delivery without obstacles to humanitarian assistance. In addition, he urged the occupation power to be responsible for war crimes and crimes against humanity, and that the Palestinian people be supported by their search for justice and self -determination.

The resolution also urged the Government to continue increasing its voice for the Palestinian cause in all international forums, including the United Nations and the OIC.

In another resolution, moved by Syeda Noseen Iftikhar de PML-N, the Chamber urged the federal government to strengthen the legal framework to guarantee a strict punishment for unauthorized video recording, cyber harassment and digital defamation.

He emphasized to improve the capacity of law enforcement agencies, including digital forensic units, to investigate and respond quickly and effectively.

The Chamber also requested specific public awareness campaigns on digital rights, legal resources and safe reports channels, in addition to establishing dedicated desks in police stations. In addition, he recommended the introduction of educational modules on digital ethics, privacy rights and laws against harassment in institutions.
