LAHORE:
The president of the Punjab Assembly, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, has constituted a negotiation committee of eight members to address the issue of the references presented against the suspended members of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI), said Express News.
The development follows an initial advisory meeting between the speaker Khan and 26 MPa suspended from PTI on the disqualification references presented against them.
The Committee includes Chief Whip Rana Arshad, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Mujtaba Shuja Ur Rehman, Khawaja Salman Rafique, Samiullah Khan and Ahmad Iqbal.
The additional representation comes from allied matches with Ali Haider Gillani of the Popular Party of Pakistan (PPP), Chaudhry Shafay Hussain of the Pakistan Muslim League (Q) and Shoaib Siddiqui of the Itemhkam-E-Pakistan Party (IPP).
The sources also revealed that the opposition is expected to present their speaker nominees today. The opposition delegation may include opposition leader Ahmad Khan Bhachaha, parliamentary leader Ali Imtiaz Waraich, the president of PTI Lahore, Sheikh Imtiaz, Ejaz Shafi and other high -level members.
The second round of conversations between the government and the opposition committees is scheduled for Sunday at 4:30 pm in the Punjab assembly. Both parties are expected to finish their recommendations for the negotiation framework at the end of the day.

It is likely that the key representatives of the treasure banks and opposition establish terms of reference (Tor) in the next few days, destined to regulate the future procedures of the Punjab Assembly and discourage humiliation, abusive exchanges and violent conduct among legislators.

According to reports, both parties agreed to form a joint committee of high -level members so that the consultation process is more effective and explore constitutional, legal and parliamentary solutions to Impasse.
It is worth mentioning that President Khan had received disqualification references against these MPA currently suspended under article 63 (2) Read with article 113 of the Constitution. It is its constitutional obligation to decide on these references within 30 days, as stipulated in said provisions.
