Super Bowl LIX featured two of the NFL’s best quarterbacks in Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts, and it wasn’t the first time the two teams faced off for a chance to win a championship.

Ten months later, both Mahomes and Hurts find themselves in a difficult situation. The Kansas City Chiefs find themselves out of the playoff race with four weeks left in the regular season. The Philadelphia Eagles have lost three games in a row and have failed to score more than 21 points in the last five.

Mahomes and Hurts’ performances in Week 14 weren’t ideal either.

The Chiefs star was 14 of 33 for 160 yards and threw three interceptions as they fell to the Houston Texans, 20-10, to fall to 6-7.

He regretted that the team did not execute at the most opportune moments.

“We had opportunities,” Mahomes said after the game, “and we didn’t execute them.”

The Eagles star was 21 of 40 for 240 yards with four interceptions and a lost fumble. Two of the five turnovers were committed on one play. Philadelphia fell to 8-5. While the team still leads the NFC East, the Eagles look far from the Super Bowl champions they were in February.

“We lost the game,” Hurts said, “and I didn’t play well enough to help us win the game.”

With last year’s top two teams battling at a crucial point in the season, the road to Super Bowl LX is anyone’s game. The Denver Broncos, New England Patriots, Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks are the only teams with at least 10 wins.
