The problem captured the attention of the United States, including President Donald Trump.

Watkins asked Mahomes about his thoughts about transgender athletes who compete against girls in terms of justice.

“Personally, being a woman and a girl and making mixed teams throughout my life and simply having fun in sports, there is a big difference between men and women,” he told Watkins. “There is a big difference and, as a woman, I only think it is not a fair confrontation. A transgender, I agree with, I understand, I love everyone. But when it comes to physical strength and you know that only our DNA does not think it is fair.

“… I think they may create a league to which all transgender could go and have a fair game or activity. I only think there is a difference in DNA. I only think women really need to be with women. And men need to be with men. I think that is fair. That is very strong.

Mohomes has not been afraid to share his opinions.
