Patrick Mahomes reveals crucial promise that was fulfilled when Chiefs clinched first playoff berth

Patrick Mahomes kept a promise to his wife, Brittany, when the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers on Wednesday afternoon, 29-10.

Brittany Mahomes is pregnant with the couple’s third child and will be born very soon. The star quarterback said he told her the Chiefs would get the first seed in the playoffs so she could have the baby with him there instead of on the football field.

“I told my wife, my pregnant wife, that I was going to get the number one seed so I could have that baby,” he told Netflix’s Stacey Dales. “We have a seed.”

Brittany Mahomes was watching the game with her children and other family members. She responded to her husband’s comments on her Instagram Stories.

“Always keeping his promises,” he wrote in a post.

RAVENS DEFEAT TEXANS ON CHRISTMAS, ONE INCH CLOSER TO DIVISION TITLE

Kansas City moved to 15-1 on the season. They have one more game on January 5th and it doesn’t look like the team will start their entire game.

The wild card portion of the playoffs begins Jan. 11 with the divisional round. In theory, Mahomes could have plenty of free time to spend with his wife as she prepares for the birth of their next child.

The Chiefs have had a wild season filled with injuries and some turmoil off the field. The team has only scored 30 points once in a game and even then has only lost once.

The possibility of three consecutive Super Bowls is alive and well.
