Set photos Beatles Filming continues and viewers remain divided in their opinions.

Paul Mescal and Harris Dickinson, the actors cast as Paul McCartney and John Lennon in the upcoming biopics, are the latest to fall prey to the online discourse surrounding the production.

Dressed in what looked like the iconic ’70s boy band’s wardrobe, the two British actors were seen filming a scene on a rooftop.

Naturally, the Internet had thoughts: barely able to resist the temptation of discourse, social media users came up with the most extravagant descriptions for the newly published images.

Social networks versus movie sets

Despite the understandable noise around the visibility of set photos, it’s worth highlighting that visibility itself is the central issue, rather than reactions to it.

The age of social media has largely killed the momentum of movie sets as they navigate location filming, with much of the movie’s magic being displayed to the prying eyes of audiences before even reaching the movie.

marty supreme, The Devil Wears Prada 2and now the Beatles Movies are just a few of the examples where various looks at movies have not only been botched, but have also been marred by unbearable levels of discussion about material that no one can have a clue about.

In fact, the multiple looks at the Beatles Biographies set are unlikely to slow down, as there is currently an entire page titled “Beatles Biographies Updates” in our midst.

The Beatles-sized legacy

On the other hand, perhaps a couple of thoughts can be spared for the vast fan base of the Beatles, a band whose members have been captured on celluloid forever and in great detail.

Since all of the bandmates (Paul, John, George and Ringo) are the traditional equivalents of the biggest social media stars (albeit with talent and real jobs), their fans, who are many and of all ages, have a lot to deal with.

However, the microscopic dissection of style, hair and makeup will never translate into reasonable conversation until the preliminary shots are cut to look like a movie, rather supersaturating the discourse to a level of ridiculous irony.

And that will only happen in April 2028, when the four Beatles Biographical films about each individual member of the group will be released in theaters simultaneously.
