LAHORE:
Punjab Minister of Information, Bokhari Azma, has clarified that the paint used in bicycle lanes in LaHore was applied by a local company in a trial under a one -year warranty.
She emphasized a statement that no funds from the Punjab government had been spent and that no payment had been made to the company.
“As part of the trial phase, the same company will re-apply the paint at no additional cost,” he said, responding to the recent comments of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Barríster Saif advisor.
When making a comparison of the matter with the fast bus traffic system of Peshawar (BRT), he said: “In the last five years, Peshawar BRT has faced persistent inefficiencies, with more time of inactivity than operating time, and has often State involved in accidents. “
He added: “The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government still must RS60 billion for the Peshawar Metro project, with the BRT case pending in an international court.”
She said Barríster Saif is diverting the attention of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s deficiencies by unfairly pointing to Punjab progress.
“Those who cannot demonstrate the achievements of their own government often resort to undermining the successful initiatives of others,” he said.
She said: “To date, the KP government spokesman has not been able to present any report on the performance of their prime minister. Meanwhile, Citizens in KP continue to risk their lives crossing rivers in rafts and improvised containers.”
The minister declared: “After the successful launches of the Metro Bus and Orange trains systems, Punjab now advances the plans for tram services and the underground project of the Metro Green Line to further improve urban mobility.”
