Islamabad:
An important controversy has exploded in the Pakistan Scientific and Industrial Research Council (PCSIR) after the accusations of manipulation of reports and abuse of energy that involves the president and general director of PCSIR, LAHORE. In response, the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Khaliq Hussain Magsi, ordered an investigation and formed a committee to investigate the matter.
According to an official complaint filed by MS Creactible Business Hub PVT limited to the Minister, a sample of Betel nuts referred to by the Plant Protection Department (DPP) was initially declared adequate for human consumption on July 16, 2025 (Ref: Get04-11/07) for PCSIR LAHORE. However, a contradictory report was issued only one day later, on July 17, 2025, stating that the same sample is not suitable for consumption, raising serious concerns about manipulation and procedure violations.
The CEO of MS Creisible Business Hub Pvt Limited accused Dr. Hussain Abidi and Dr. Quratul Ain to orchestrate the alteration of the test results for the hidden reasons. He said that the manipulation was deliberate, aimed at damaging the commercial interests of companies that are not aligned with the president.
In response to these serious accusations, the Federal Minister of Science and Technology has ordered an official investigation, appointing the Billal Butt Secretary as head of the Investigation Committee. The probe will aim to determine the cause of conflicting laboratory reports and assign responsibility.
Experts suggested that this can only be one of several irregularities under the possession of Dr. Abidi, with multiple accusations that already circulate within the Ministry. The result of the investigation could have high -range consequences for the reputation of PCSIR and for the business community that depends on its reports for regulatory authorization and trade.
This incident underlines the urgent need for transparency and responsibility in public testing laboratories, especially when their reports have commercial and health -related direct implications.
President Pcsir Dr. Hussain Abdi has not answered the company’s question and accusations.
