LAHORE:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the early completion of the 2025 policy of electric vehicles (EV) in consultation with all interested parties and their immediate presentation before the federal cabinet.
He issued the directives while presiding over a high -level meeting on Saturday to review the policy framework for the promotion of electric vehicles industry and use in the country.
During the meeting, the draft of the 2025 electric vehicle policy was thoroughly discussed. The prime minister emphasized the need for rapid and priority measures to promote electric motorcycles, scooters, three wheels, cars and buses in Pakistan.
He also stressed the importance of establishing a load infrastructure, including load stations and battery exchange facilities, to support the expansion of the EV ecosystem.
In addition, Prime Minister Shehbaz instructed that relevant industries should be facilitated to improve the local manufacturing capacity of two -wheeled and three -wheeled electric vehicles.
The meeting was attended by federal ministers Rana Tanveer Hussain, Ahmad Khan Chema, Muhammad Aurengzeb, special assistant Haroon Akhtar and other senior government officials.
SAAD RAFIQ
The former Federal Mminister and leader of PML-N Senior Khawaja Saad Rafique requested on Saturday at Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
During the meeting, Rafique congratulated the prime minister for presenting a federal friendly budget with the public, describing it as a positive step towards economic stability and relief very necessary for people.
The two leaders also made a detailed discussion about the current political situation in the country, reaffirming their commitment to address national challenges through democratic unity and dialogue.
Youth Empowerment
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated that providing young education, skills and employment opportunities remain one of the main priorities of the government.
He made the comments during a meeting with the youth program of Prime Minister’s president, Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, who called him on Saturday.
