Leah Sava Jeffries already has a big wish for the future of Percy Jackson and the Olympiansand involves Zendaya joining the world of demigods.
After fighting monsters like Annabeth in Season 1, Jeffries shared his dream casting call while attending the Season 2 world premiere in Los Angeles.
“I don’t know who I would cast it for, but I would love to have Zendaya join a future season,” he said. Varietyand added that she has been a fan of all of Zendaya’s projects.
He said Zendaya could take on the role of a demigod or “anyone else who hasn’t been cast on the show.”
Season 2 adapts The sea of monstersthe second book in Rick Riordan’s bestselling series.
This time, Percy, Annabeth, and their friends set out on a mission to rescue Grover after he was captured by the Cyclops Polyphemus, all while trying to save Camp Half-Blood from danger.
With the main trio back in action, the new season also brings new faces. Kate McKinnon, Dafne Keen and Saara Chaudry are confirmed guest stars as the story expands into new mythological territory.
Jeffries isn’t the only cast member with big ideas about future dream co-stars.
Charlie Bushnell, who plays Luke, said he would love to see Cillian Murphy join the series and called him his favorite actor.
Aryan Simhadri, who plays Grover, mentioned that he would love to have the opportunity to one day work with Willem Dafoe, and even Timothée Chalamet.
While there is still no confirmation that any of these notable characters will enter the demigod universe, the enthusiasm of the young cast reflects how bold and broad the future of the show could be.
For now, fans can look forward to seeing how season 2 plays out and maybe dreaming about Zendaya entering Camp Half-Blood one day.
