Pete Davidson is giving fans a unique and intimate look at his life as a new father, and the moment is turning heads for more than just its cuteness.
In a recently shared shirtless photo, the comedian appears with dramatically faded tattoos while cradling his newborn daughter, indicating how far along he is in his long and painful tattoo removal journey.
The photo was shared on Sunday by Davidson’s girlfriend, model Elsie Hewitt, who shared a series of photos of the couple holding their baby.
In the featured shot, Davidson is seen cradling his daughter, holding her gently as she rests on a blanket.
Many of the tattoos that once covered his torso are noticeably lighter, reflecting years of continuous removal treatments. Hewitt captioned the post simply: “MY BEST FRIENDS.”
The couple welcomed their daughter on December 12, and Hewitt announced the birth on Instagram.
This is the first child for Davidson, 32, and Hewitt, who have been dating since early 2025.
As Davidson becomes a father, fans are also seeing visible progress in another deeply personal change he’s openly talked about: removing most of his 200-plus tattoos.
Earlier this year, Davidson explained in Tonight’s show starring Jimmy Fallon How intense the process has been.
“I’ve been burning them,” he said. “They burn off a layer of the skin and then it has to heal for six to eight weeks.”
He added: “You can’t expose yourself to sunlight. And then you have to do it like 12 times more.”
While he plans to keep only two or three tattoos, one he has no intention of removing is that of Hillary Clinton.
Remembering a conversation during an appearance on The breakfast clubDavidson said: “The nice thing is that when they took them away from me, she hit me and said, ‘You’re not going to take them away from me, are you?’ I was like, ‘Of course not, of course. Hillary stays.’”
And he added: “She loves it.”
Davidson has never sugarcoated the process, saying bluntly that removal “sucks” and offering advice to others: “If someone is really thinking about getting a tattoo, I would recommend thinking about it for a couple of years because your feelings change, you know?”
Now, with faded ink and a newborn in her arms, Davidson appears to be entering a very different and significant chapter in her life.
