The members of the Rose’s family and other greats of the Reds were at the ceremony prior to the game, and Rose’s daughter, Fawn shared her reaction to the news.
“When we left yesterday’s news, we were addressing a plane in Seattle, and I received a phone call around 10:15. And I received a phone call from our lawyer …. I wanted to be the one who was standing here on this podium and announcing that the ban had risen, but I am very happy that we celebrate that night again. One step at the same time. One step at the same time,” he said.
Fawn Rose praised the commissioner for his discussions about his father when the family met with Manfred shortly after Pete Rose died.
“The emotion was overwhelming. I called [Pete Jr.]. My children thought someone died because I was excited at the airport, but it was a big problem. And during my meeting with the commissioner, the commissioner was very grateful, “he said.

In 1991, two years after Rose was prohibited by A. Bartlett Giamatti, the National Baseball Hall voted to make baseball eligible not eligible for the possible induction in Cooperstown.
It is not yet official when Rose will be ready for a vote, but it will probably be up to the classic baseball era, which considers players whose races ended more than 15 years ago. That committee does not meet until December 2027, and would need 12 of the 16 votes to enter.
