John Daly decided to sit the PGA championship and give up the fight for a second title in an important as he dismissed with the operation of his golf schedule.
Daly competes in PGA Tour Champions and will be in Regions Tradition in Birmingham, Alabama. The event takes place the same weekend as the PGA championship, which will be in Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina.

“I can go there and lose the cut and get $ 6,000,” Daly said on the PGA championship. “But I am playing Birmingham. I love regions. They are a great sponsor. But why are regions schedule the same week as the PGA championship, where I can see Brooks (Koepka) and all the boys?”
Tradition is one of the five major in the schedule of PGA Tour Champions. Doug Barron won in 2024 and Steve Stricker took home the trophy in 2023 and 2022. Daly is still dealing with health problems. He underwent surgery in his left hand in January. He said his biggest problems are to cross the ball in three -quarter and post shots.
He was 27 years old in the invitational insperity.
Even so, Daly remained unchanged even through 16 surgeries and bladder cancer.
“I’m like Lazarus, I’m still coming from among the dead,” he said. “Awakening is a victory for me.”

Daly won the PGA championship in 1991.
