PESHAWAR: The Superior Court of Peshawar (PHC) on Tuesday for Tuesday to the National Assembly and president of the Senate to appoint opposition leaders in their respective houses after the denotation of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) Omar Ayub and Shibli Faraz from the main parliamentary positions.
Upon hearing a petition against the decision of the Electoral Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to denotify Ayub and Faraz, the Bank of two PHC members comprising Judge Arshad Ali and Judge Khurshid Iqbal also prohibited the electoral body from taking more measures against the politicians of the opposition party.
The court postponed the hearing until August 15.
The development occurs after the ECP, last week, to the nine legislators of PTI boneless, including Ayub and Faraz, after their convictions in the cases of May 9.
