The banker Zafar Masud, one of the two survivors of the PIA 2020 plane crash in Karachi, shared memories of that fateful day that culminated in his memoirs, Seat 1c: A story of hope of a survivor, resistance to renewal.
The book, written in collaboration with Syeda Amna Hasan, was launched on Saturday at the Literary Festival of Lahore.
When asked about what inspired him to write the book, Masud replied: “Actually, I thought these are so unique learning that, God does not want it, nobody should have to face or face them. I wanted to share my learning after the shock: tell people how they feel when you approach death so much, how your life changes and what your life of priorities should be. “
Masud was asked about the way to a life free of regret, particularly for those who are willing to devote themselves to their faith. He explained that there is no unique response for all, since the priorities of each individual vary according to personal preferences.
Instead, he emphasized the importance of choosing priorities that generate a positive impact and benefit the community, ensuring that personal ambitions are not followed at the expense of happiness, prosperity or welfare of another.
Concluding the session, Masud urged: “If you did not attend our session or could not see it, then you must definitely buy the book, you have much to teach and offer.”
