Islamabad:
The administration of PIA with liquidity problems has decided to give a salary increase to its around 7,000 employees in view of the growing inflation.
According to a statement, the Board of Directors of PIA approved Friday in principle to give an increase in paintings to the employees of the airline in proportion to inflation.
Employees obtained their last salary increase four years ago and face financial problems due to a strong increase in inflation.
The PIA spokesman said that the total number of employees of the national flag operator is now less than 7,000 and that the number of employees is decreasing rapidly.
