Pakistan International Airlines has signed a cargo agreement with Riyadh Air, the newly formed airline of Saudi Arabia.
According to a spokesperson for the national airline, under the agreement, cargo will be transported from Pakistan and London to Riyadh, from where it will be distributed to other destinations through the combined networks of both airlines. The agreement will enter into force on October 29.
The spokesperson said the deal is aimed at expanding PIA’s cargo operations and increasing the airline’s revenue. The collaboration also aims to help meet the growing global demand for air transportation services.
The spokesperson added that PIA already maintains a cargo partnership with British Airways, through which around 1,000 tonnes of cargo are transported to the UK annually. The deal with Riyadh Air, he said, is part of PIA’s broader business strategy to strengthen its cargo network.
