Rawalpindi:
In the light of a possible conflict between Pakistan and India, the Rawalpindi district administration and the Department of Civil Defense have finished emergency preparation measures to treat unforeseen emergencies. Sixteen emergency sirens installed throughout the city, including the central pilot siren in the Civil Defense Office, have been fully activated and updated.
In addition, 38 rescue and monitoring control points are now operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
These include 24 positions administered by the Department of Civil Defense and 14 by Rescue 1122, all with personnel.
Civil Defense has also launched formal combat rescue training for its 3,500 volunteers and young people interested.
Training is being carried out at the Rawalpindi Cantt police station, the Higher Mission School in Raja Bazaar and the Central Office of Civil Defense.
Another training center at Denny’s Higher School will be operational within 24 hours.
For the first time, voluntary women also receive training rescue training.
In the Central Office of Civil Defense, they are being trained to rescue the injured, evacuate citizens to burn or collapse buildings, and extinguish fires. The training is performed daily.
The sources reported that the main siren points in the city: Kohinor Mills, Locos Railroads, Stand General Bus Stand Pirwadhai, Viqar-Un-Nisa Postgraduate College, 501 and 502 workshops, Adilla Cail, Gawalmandi, Chohar Chowk and Ratta Amral, have been updated, cleaned and reactivated.
A new policy requires that in any emergency or proof scenario, the central pilot siren in the Civil Defense Office in Kacheri will sound first, followed by all the sirens of the area.
Control personnel and volunteers must immediately inform their designated positions when listening to the sirens.
The civil defense of the district officer, Talib Hussain, told Express PAkGazette that, either in peace or crisis, the department remains on alert.
He said that under the strict supervision of the attached commissioner Hasan Waqar Cheem, all volunteers have been mobilized and submit to combat rescue exercises. Senior Nasir Kayani and Sadaf Zahoor instructors lead the practical sessions, while Halima Saadia is training volunteers.
According to Hussain, civil defense preparations in Rawalpindi are completed.
Fire and rescue extinction teams have been activated, the leaves of the canceled staff and the 24 -hour assigned tasks.
