Pindi’s sewerage system is renovated on cards


Rawalpindi:

The Punjab government plans to address the long shortage of water from Rawalpindi by completing the Chirah water supply projects (28 mgd), Chahan (17 mgd) and Dadocha (35 mgd). In addition, 40 % of the city’s sewerage system will be updated at 100PC, and the rainwater collection systems will be expanded.

These ads were made by Punjab Secretary of Housing, Noorul Amin Mengal, during a meeting at Rawalpindi, attended by DG Wasa Punjab Tayyab Fareed, MD WASA Rawalpindi Muhammad Salem Ashraf and other officials.

The meeting reviewed the Master Plan for the Rawalpindi Water and Sewerage System, developing under the Punjab development program.

Secretary Mengal declared that WASA will install new surface water treatment plants and update the water distribution network in Rawalpindi.

He added that rainwater collection systems and underground water storage tanks will be established to preserve rainwater, and wastewater and rainwater of drains will be treated and reused for agriculture. Wastewater treatment plants will be installed in wastewater drainage outlets, including Nala Lai.

Mengal emphasized the use of intelligent resources and collaborative planning with relevant departments.
