The fanatic who fell on the right garden wall and the field in the PNC park of PNCSburgh Pirates on Wednesday night has been identified.
Kavan Markwood, a former 20-year-old university soccer player, was identified as the man who fell more than 20 feet on the right field warning, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
It was a terrifying scene on Wednesday night when Markwood turned the railing of the wall and fell into the field in a game between the Pirates and the Chicago puppies.

The game stopped immediately when the medical staff ran to the garden to find a Markwood without a motionless shirt on the warning with visible blood on his face. The coaches of both teams joined EMS to take it to a cart and off the field.
The players of both teams put on a knee and some looked towards the ground.
Pittsburgh’s public security published in X that the incident is “being treated as an accidental nature”, and Markwood was in critical condition starting Thursday morning at Allegheny General Hospital.

Markwood played for two soccer programs of Division II, Walsh University and Wheeling University. He played at Wheeling in 2023, appearing in four games, according to the team’s site.
Frank Cortazzo, South Allegheny High School soccer coach, issued a statement about Markwood al Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
“Kavan is not only an outstanding athlete, but an even more exceptional young man. His resistance, heart and strength are really unmatched. Please keep him, his family and friends in his thoughts and prayers while sailing for this challenging moment.”
The pirates also issued a statement shortly after Markwood fell on the wall in the seventh entrance.

“I really hate what happened tonight,” he wrote. “I can’t help thinking about that guy, his family and friends. I pray tonight.
Once Markwood was taken off the field, the pirates and the puppies resumed their game, and Pittsburgh won, 4-3.
