Pittsburgh Pirates: Paul Skenes putting the players for a good cause

The Pittsburgh Pirates star launcher, Paul Skenes, was appointed the head of the Opening Day for the confrontation on Thursday night against the Miami Marlins.

Skenes, who won the rookie award of the Year of the National League last season, will try to attack as many batters as I can, and all for a good cause.

He associated with the Gary Sinise Foundation (GSF) for a strikeout campaign. For each shock punch, Skenes launches this season, promised to donate $ 100 to the organization.

“I am very excited to associate again with the Gary Sinise Foundation and help our veterans and lifeguards during the 2025 season,” he said in a press release. “I have tremendous respect and admiration for men and women who sacrifice both to protect and serve our communities. GSF offers an incredible platform to honor and support those who have done so much for me. I look forward to another year to support this incredible cause.”

The actor and humanitarian Gary Sinise began his foundation in 2011 after spending the previous decade as a volunteer with other organizations. In the last decade, the Foundation has helped expand service efforts, providing military, veteran and first responders collection of additional funds and dissemination.

“A great thanks and much gratitude to Paul for his incredible support for GSF and for this incredible offer and invitation to batting practice for the main donor. Incredible! We are doing great things at the Gary Sinise Foundation and we appreciate his support for Paul and what he is doing to help us,” Sinise said in a news statement.

“I’m just easy with my puppies this season, Paul,” he added.

The Foundation also invited MLB fans to join Skenes in their efforts to raise $ 100,000.

Skenes will personally thank the person who makes the greatest donation between the launch and the first game of the Pirates House on April 4. The person can make an encounter and get tickets for the team game against the New York Yankees.

It is the second season that Skenes has associated with the Sinise Foundation. He recorded 170 strikeouts last season and ended third in the vote of the Cy Young Prize of the National League.
