- The 10 pro plate pixel is again to be classified by IP68
- It would be the first folding to reach the standard
- Pixels 10 are revealed on August 20
We are patiently telling the days until the Big Google Pixel 10 showcase on August 20, and before the launch event there is a rumor that the 10 Pro fold pixel will be the first folding to launch with an IP68 classification for protection against dust and water.
This comes from Winfuture, in an article where most of the technical details of the phone are presented, and is the IP68 qualification that really stands out. No other folding in the market can match it, not even the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 with IP48 classification.
An IP68 phone is completely protected against the start of dust, and is also stagnant: the exact definition depends on the telephone and manufacturer, but it is typical to survive for 30 minutes in a depth of 1.5 meters (almost five feet).
Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold offers IPX8 protection, as folding as Motorola Razr 50 Ultra: this means a high level of waterproofing, but there is no guarantee that dust and earth’s motorcycles do not find their way to the housing.
A repeated rumor

Attend
Of course, a folding phone with a flexible screen and a hinge presents some very specific challenges when it comes to avoiding dust and water, and it will be a feat if Google has managed to obtain the folding pixel 10 Pro until the required standard.
Since we listen to the same rumor of separate sources in June and July, it seems more and more likely that Google has achieved that feat, and will be one of the main points of sale of the phone, in addition to any other update that they treat us.
Another interesting fact of this report is that the storage will be updated from UFS 3.1 to UFS 4.0. It will not make a big difference, but it will mean a speed increase, and it should make the folding phone feel more agile in general.
Of course, we will cover the launch of the Pixel 10 Pro Fold and the other phones of the series live on August 20, and we hope that Google provides a live broadcast of some description, so you can see along where it is in the world.
