Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced the Ramadan package, under which 4 million homes throughout the country will receive financial assistance.
According to Express News, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the Ramadan package in the Federal Capital, revealed that this year, four million families (approximately 20 million people) will receive RS 5,000 per home through a digital wallet.
He thanked Allah and said: “This year, inflation during Ramadan is lower compared to previous years. The government has assigned a significant amount of 20 billion RS for the Ramadan package, which will benefit 4 million Pakistani households.”
The Prime Minister also mentioned that last year, the amount assigned was 7 billion, but this year, he has increased by 200 percent to 20 billion RS.
The Punjab government had launched the “Nigehban Ramazan” project in early February to support low -income families by providing RS10,000 each to three million deserving homes. The distribution began on February 25, facilitated through Post Pakistan.
The Punjab Bank (BOP) in Lahore will issue 500,000 payment orders daily to Pikistan Post, which will be sent as insured letters to eligible families throughout the province. The entire operation, including reservation, processing and special delivery, has been organized under the supervision of Pakistan Post, Sami Ullah Khan.
To guarantee an execution without problems of the project, the Punjab government has imposed a temporary prohibition of the license and transfer of postal staff until the completion of the project.
Previously, the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has announced the help packages of Ramadan and EID for deserving families this year.
BarrĂster Saif, special assistant to the KP Information Minister, confirmed that, similar to the previous year, the provincial government will extend the package to support more than one million families throughout the province. Each eligible family will receive RS10,000 as part of the help effort.
The funds will be transferred through Banks and Easypaisa transparently before the 15 of Ramadan. The provincial government will cover the bank and disbursement charges to ensure that the total amount reaches the recipients.
Meanwhile, the Moon for the Sacred Month of Ramadan 1446 Hijri was not seen anywhere in Pakistan. As a result, the first fast (touch) will be observed on Sunday, March 2.
The Central Committee of Ruet-E-Hilal met in Peshawar on Friday under President Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad. After the meeting, the committee held a press conference to announce that the Moon had not been dressed in the country, said Express News.
Several zonal committees for the Avistation of the Moon also held meetings throughout the country with representatives of the Department of Meteorology and Assistance of Supparco.
