PM directs the completion of industrial policy


Islamabad:

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed the early completion of industrial policy on Thursday to boost production and provide sustainable solutions to the challenges facing the industrial sector.

By chairing a meeting on industrial development, he emphasized that the policy must be prepared in consultation with all relevant interested parties.

The prime minister said that equipping local industries with a qualified workforce and modern in line with international standards was a government priority.

During the meeting, recommendations for the development of national industries to Prime Minister were presented.

Vocational training

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif ordered all the vocational and technical training offered throughout Pakistan with international standards to improve the global youth employability of the country and increase foreign remittances.

By chairing a high level meeting on the operations of the National Commission for Vocational and Technical Training (NAVTTC), the Prime Minister emphasized the need for worldwide accredited training programs to strengthen the qualified workforce of Pakistan and increase its demand in international markets, a press release said from the office of the Prime Minister.

NavTTC officials informed the Prime Minister about recent initiatives, including the allocation of vocational institutions throughout the country and the activation of the National System for Technical Data Management and Vocational Training.

WB Country Director

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif celebrated a farewell meeting with the Outgoing Country Director of the World Bank in Pakistan, Najy Benhassine.

During the meeting, the prime minister expressed the best wishes for Najy Benhassine and prayed for his health and success.

“You played a fundamental role in strengthening the association between Pakistan and the World Bank, so we are grateful,” said the prime minister while talking to Benhassine.
