Islamabad:

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has constituted an investigation committee of three members to investigate the alleged irregularities in the lease of valuable lands of the Portesim authority (PQA), after explosive revelations of the Faisal Vawda senator that the land was leased at disposable prices during the current government of the Government.

According to a notification issued by the Prime Minister’s office, the Earth was assigned for a small and medium industrial park. He added that the panel will investigate the alleged financial irregularities in the lease process.

The Committee will be led by the President of the Prime Minister’s Inspection Commission, who has been appointed Coeier, while the director of the Intelligence Office (IB) Sirajuddin Amjad and the director of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Syed Shahid Hussain, will serve as its members.

The committee has also been assigned a special task to examine PQA’s legal strategy in the search for cancellation of the lease, including efforts to annul the order of stay issued against its revocation. He will investigate the factors considered by the PQA Board in his decision to reach an extrajudicial agreement with the claimant.

In addition, the consultation panel will review all legal opinions that support the agreement outside the court.

According to the terms of reference (Tor), the Committee will evaluate whether PQA reevaluated the value of the land before continuing with the agreement and if the prevailing prices of the market were taken into account in the final decision.

The committee will also determine why the supply of liquidation outside the court was not immediately withdrawn when the claimant refused to accept it. In addition, it will identify governance problems that contributed to delays in the process.

If necessary, the Committee has been authorized to co -opt additional members to help in the investigation. The Maritime Affairs Ministry will provide secretariat support. The Investigation Committee must submit its report to Prime Minister within two weeks.

Last week, the Senate committee of the maritime president, Senator Faisal Vawda, presented a corruption scandal of RS60 billion, accusing a federal minister of “criminal negligence.”

Vawda detailed the scam of the Earth and held the Minister of Maritime Affairs Qaisar Sheikh for supervision. He said the agreement was discarded in 72 hours. “I asked for one thing, but they ignored me and they rushed to cancel the deal in 72 hours,” he said.

During this time, he added, an official denial in dark newspapers was published. The land worth millions per acre was supposedly sold for only RS800,000 to RS1 million.
