Islamabad:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday requested the relevant authorities to present a comprehensive action plan to boost agricultural production and introduce agricultural reforms in the country.
I was presiding over a review meeting on the performance of the agricultural sector and the current reforms.
“Improving agricultural productivity, additional value and increased exports of agricultural products are the main priorities of the government,” said Prime Minister.
He directed that a short and long -term comprehensive action plan for modern agricultural machinery, quality seeds, geographical planning of crops and provision of easy loans for farmers.
To improve acre crop yield, the prime minister ordered the agricultural research centers to become more effective.
In addition, he directed that modern research is guaranteed through public-private partnerships in agricultural research centers.
The prime minister emphasized that the government should benefit from internationally renowned experts for the effective use of artificial intelligence and modern technology in agriculture.
During the informative session, the meeting on the production of main crops of Rabi and Kharif was informed of the previous year, the challenges facing farmers, the future roadmap proposal and suggestions for improvements.
The meeting was also informed about progress in the implementation of government reforms and the impact of climate change in agriculture.
Industrialists and business leaders
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif celebrated a high -level meeting on Tuesday with the main industrialists and business leaders of key sectors of the economy, reaffirming their government’s commitment to economic stability, export -led growth and facilitation of the private sector.
During the interactive session, the business leaders praised the leadership of the prime minister and the persistent efforts of their economic team to stabilize the country’s financial perspective, according to a press release from the Prime Minister’s office.
They particularly praised the Government to successfully conclude a critical agreement of the IMF and introduce a budget in favor of businesses aimed at ease of doing business.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the participants and stressed the importance of the formulation of collaborative policies. “The credit for economic stabilization goes to the tireless efforts of our team,” he said, adding: “Our next goal is to lead Pakistan towards sustained growth, improve exports, create jobs and attract foreign investments.”
He stressed that future development would be promoted by the mobilization of national resources, reducing dependency and making Pakistan economically self -sufficient. “The suggestions of the business community are vital to shape policies that serve the national interest,” he said.
The prime minister announced that he would hold monthly meetings with the business community to guarantee a regular consultation and collective property of economic reforms. “We will consult private sector experts in each domain. This long journey of progress demands mutual effort and determination,” he said.
The industrialists recognized the government budget as a friendly for business and aligned with the needs of the industry. They appreciated current reforms in fiscal and customs authorization systems, particularly improvements in the digitalization and transparency of FBR in the ports.
They also emphasized the need for improved facilitation for exporters and investors, as well as the alignment of policies with the needs of companies and industries to boost foreign direct investment.
