Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif together with the Syed field marshal also met separately with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Beijing on Tuesday in a movement that highlights the carefully prepared approach of Pakistan, looking for mutually beneficial ties with all the great powers.
Shehbaz is in China, where he attended the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Plus. His meeting with President XI and President Putin, the two powerful leaders of the world, took place in the space of a few hours.
In the morning, Prime Minister Shehbaz, who was joined by Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Minister of Information, Atta Tarar, as well as the head of the Army, held a detailed meeting with President XI and his delegation.
The meeting that took place in the Great Hall of People in Beijing was seen as significant in the context of the geostrategic developments in progress, since Pakistan’s relations with the US. UU. China is ready to work with Pakistan to build the China Economic Corridor of Pakistan 2.0 and improve the Chinese-Pakistan free trade agreement, and increase cooperation in industries, agriculture and mining, with the aim of promoting the local development capacity of Pakistan.
China supports Pakistan’s efforts to combat terrorism and expect Pakistan to take solid and effective measures to guarantee the safety of personnel, Chinese projects and institutions in Pakistan, to create a safe environment for bilateral cooperation.
The two parties must strengthen strategic communication, implement the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, the Global Civilization Initiative and Global Governance Initiative, address common challenges and maintain international equity and justice.
Shehbaz congratulated China on the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese people’s resistance war against Japanese aggression, and pointed out that the fundamental role of China’s Communist Party in the world’s fight against fascism changed the course of China’s history and the world.
“Ironclad Pakistan-China friendship has rooted in the hearts of the more than 200 million Pakistani people, and each generation will remember China’s selfless support,” he said. “No force can shake this unwavering bond.”
The prime minister declared that, under the great leadership of President XI, China has achieved remarkable economic and social progress, he took the Chinese people from poverty and has improved the well -being of the people.
At the same time, China also shares opportunities with other developing countries through belt cooperation and road, gaining global praise and winning people’s hearts and minds.
The prime minister said that Pakistan undertakes unwaftably with the principle of “One-China” and hopes to strengthen friendly ties with China and advance cooperation in several fields to ensure sustained progress in Pakistan-China’s relationships.
“Pakistan will leave without stone without stirring to protect Chinese staff, projects and institutions in the country. The global governance initiative proposed by President XI is of great importance for global peace, development and stability. Pakistan fully supports and actively promote this initiative,” according to the prime minister.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, the prime minister renewed his most cordial invitation to President Xi Jinping to make an official visit to Pakistan next year, when both countries would celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic ties of Pakistan-China.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz and his other members of the delegation met with Russian President Putin. During the meeting, Shehbaz said that both countries were making sincere efforts to promote bilateral ties, particularly in the areas of commerce and commerce.
As a result of these efforts, bilateral trade witnessed a significant increase last year. He stressed that the importation of Pakistan’s oil from Russia contributed to this growth. The prime minister expressed his confidence that Pakistan-Russia’s relationships were in an ascending trajectory and moved in the right direction.
He mentioned that the two nations have signed protocols to improve cooperation in key sectors such as agriculture, iron and steel, energy and transport.
In his comments, Russian President Putin said Pakistan has always been and remains a traditional partner of Russia in Asia. He emphasized the importance of expanding trade between the two countries.
President Putin also pointed out that Pakistan and Russia were collaborating at the interparliamentary level and on international platforms. He extended the invitation to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to attend the next meeting of the SCO Heads of Government, scheduled in Moscow this November.
The prime minister accepted the invitation. President Putin also transmitted his sincere condolences to the people of Pakistan for the losses caused by recent floods.
While in China, Shehbaz will join several other world leaders to attend the largest military parade in Beijing to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese people’s resistance war against Japanese aggression and the world antifascist war on Wednesday (today).
