Islamabad:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday to relevant ministries and other authorities that are prepared within a week for special meetings of the biweekly sector with entrepreneurs to resolve tangible action plans to boost the national economy.
Speaking with the delegation of prominent businessmen throughout the country at the home of the Prime Minister, Shehbaz announced that he would preside over the specific biweekly meeting of the sector next Thursday, which would attend relevant government officials and businessmen.
A delegation of four members of the entrepreneurs community would represent their respective sectors, while the government’s side would be directed by the secretary of the relevant ministry, said Shehbaz. The meeting would aim to maintain the focused interactions and make the necessary decisions, he added.
“The first meeting of this type will discuss the agricultural sector,” said the prime minister, added that it was the priority of the government to direct exports, employment, agriculture and other critical sectors to revive the national economy in difficulties.
The prime minister emphasized that investments were always led by local investors and then a direct foreign investment occurred. “The government will only act as a catalyst to make entrepreneurs invest and attract global investors,” he said.
“It is the entrepreneurs who have to conduct the wheel of the economy and the government are their facilitators,” he continued. “Everyone invested their capital in this country even in difficult times for the industrial and economic development of the country. Thanks to their efforts,” he added.
“The economy of the country is moving and people have found employment. With their useful advice and opinions, the economy will continue its trip towards improvement and reforms in all sectors. The economy moves in the right direction as interest and inflation rates have decreased significantly.”
At the meeting, the participants expressed full confidence in the friendly policies for government business and paid tribute to the government for the establishment of the National Seed Development Authority to guarantee the provision of quality seeds for the development of agriculture in the country.
Two sessions
Separately, speaking with Chinese ambassador Jiang Zaidong, Shehbaz transmitted his warm greetings and good wishes for President Xi Jinping of China and Prime Minister Li Qiang about the successful call of the National People Congress and the Chinese political advisory conference in Beijing.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed his satisfaction with the positive trajectory of bilateral strategic relationships, and thanked China for his long and firm support for Pakistan in all his central themes.
He also reaffirmed the constant and unwavering support of Pakistan to China in his central problems and said that the leadership and peoples of both countries remained determined in their shared resolution to further strengthen their “strategic cooperative association of all climate” and raise it to new heights.
Progress in security and anti -terrorism cooperation between the two countries was also discussed.
