PM remembers Dwarka Op enemy

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised on Monday a resolved position and an operational skill of the Pakistan Navy and stressed that the guardians of the country’s maritime borders were totally able to execute high intensity operations, such as Dwarka’s historical operation, once again.

The Prime Minister visited the Naval Shipyard in Karachi to pay tribute to the Navy for his fundamental role in the Bunyanum Marsoos operation. He praised the exemplary professionalism of officers and sailors, the preparation of combat and firm commitment to national defense.

According to a press release issued by Public Relations between Services (ISPR), the wing of the military media, the prime minister conveyed the profound appreciation of the Nation by the Armed Forces and reaffirmed an unwavering confidence in their capacities.

Operation Dwarka was a naval operation launched by Pakistan’s Navy from September 7 to 8, during the 1965 war. The operation involved a naval bombardment of the coastal city of Dwarka, located in the Indian state of Gujarat, with the aim of destroying a radar station, guiding the Indian bombers.

The operation was a resounding success, since the Indian radar station suffered damage that hindered the operations of the Indian Air Force. Operation Dwarka demonstrated the excellent capabilities of the Pakistan Navy, since it achieved its goals without maintaining any loss.

Remembering the proud legacy of the decisive operations of the Pakistan Navy, the prime minister stressed that the Navy remained “totally capable of executing high intensity operations similar to Dwarka’s historical operation, when and where necessary.”

During the visit, the prime minister approached the type 054a destroyer, PNS Taimur, where he was informed by Commander Pakistan in the strategic orientation of the Pakistan Navy, operational companies and notable contributions during the ongoing operation.

The prime minister interacted with officers and sailors and praised his exemplary professionalism, preparation of combat and firm commitment to national defense.

He praised the Navy for his “resolved position, operational skill and effective deterrent response to counteract adverse maritime threats.”

The prime minister particularly praised the critical role of the Navy in the safeguarding of maritime communication lines and guaranteeing the uninterrupted flow of maritime trade, while maintaining absolute maritime sovereignty through a defense towards the sea in layers and safe.

Previously, when arriving at the Shipyard of the Navy of Pakistan, the prime minister was received by the head of the Naval Personnel Admiral Naveed Ashraf. The head of the army staff, General Syed also Munir, and the head of the air staff, the head of the Marshal of the Air Zaheer Ahmad Baber Sidhu was also present.

The prime minister was accompanied by the Minister of Defense, Khawaja Asif, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, the Minister of Information Attaullah Tarar and the Minister of Education, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, said ISPR press release.
