Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan was anxious to benefit from Chinese experience to adopt “effective measures and preventive strategies” to better face natural calamities during a visit to the National Earthquake Simulation Center at the University of Tianjin on Sunday.
The Prime Minister praised the use of advanced technologies by China in disaster management, saying that such methods “will be extremely beneficial for Pakistan when dealing with natural disasters.”
The existing initiatives in Pakistan, including the International Medical Center and the Chinese-Pakistan Laboratory, should become more effective, emphasized when requesting the expansion of bilateral cooperation in disaster preparation.

During the visit, he was informed about Disaster Management Technologies, including recently developed medical rescue vehicles, since it was informed that several joint projects are operational under the Belt and Road initiative, such as the Joint Disaster Laboratory and Emergency Medicine of China-Pakistan, the International Medical Cooperation Center and the Chinese-Pakistan Friendship Hospital.
This is the first visit of Prime Minister Shehbaz to China from the Pakistan-India War in May, after Pahalgam’s attack.
Pakistan came out victorious when he knocked at least 6 Indian combat planes, including the highly advanced French manufacturing rafale.
It was the first time that Chinese military hardware was tested on a real battlefield against Western technology.
China’s profile in terms of military technology has increased by some notches, since Western commentators admitted that Beijing is not along with other western countries in terms of defense equipment.
