ISLAMABAD:

Federal Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal on Wednesday said the Prime Minister Sehat Card has been launched in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), allowing all permanent residents to avail free healthcare services.

The minister made these remarks during a meeting with the Minister of Health and the Minister of Information of Gilgit-Baltistan province, where challenges faced by the ongoing health projects in Gilgit-Baltistan were discussed.

Kamal said the federal government is using all available resources to improve healthcare services there, adding that there is a need to improve the quality of services in hospitals included in the Sehat Card programme.

“I will soon visit these areas to personally review the healthcare facilities provided under the Health Card,” the minister said, adding that the federal government has also provided three vehicles to Gilgit-Baltistan to support healthcare services.

The ministers of Gilgit-Baltistan expressed their gratitude to the Federal Health Minister for expanding the facilities of Prime Minister Sehat Card.
