Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Ankara in an official two -day visit to Turkiye by invitation from the Turkish President Rece Tayyip Erdogan, Pakistan radio reported.
Upon arriving at the airport, he was received by Turkiye defense minister Yashar Guler. The visit underlines the deep diplomatic and economic ties between Pakistan and Turkiye.
During his stay, the Prime Minister will hold an individual meeting with President Erdogan. The two leaders are expected to discuss a wide range of issues, including the improvement of bilateral cooperation, the expansion of commercial and investment opportunities, and address key regional and global developments.
In addition to their political commitments, the prime minister will also meet with Turkish investors and commercial delegations to promote economic collaboration between the two countries.
The prime minister is accompanied by the Vice Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, the Minister of Information Attaullah Tarar and special foreign affairs Tariq Fatemi.
The visit is produced following the visit of the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Islamabad in February, where both leaders co -presided the seventh session of the High Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC).
During the February session, Pakistan and Turkiye signed 24 Mous, reaffirming their shared commitment to strengthen bilateral ties in multiple sectors. The highlight of the meeting was the agreement to increase bilateral trade to $ 5 billion.
The key areas of cooperation described in the agreements included an expansion of the trade trade agreement, greater collaboration in the defense sector and efforts to attract Turkish investments in Pakistan.
The two parties also agreed to operationalize the Islamabad-Tehran-Stambul trade corridor and deepen cooperation in areas such as energy, finance and digital trade.
