PM Shehbaz condemns Israeli bombing in Doha as’ atrocious and illegal act


Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned what he described as an ‘atrocious and illegal’ bombardment carried out by Israeli forces in Doha, which qualifies him as a serious provocation and a violation of Qatar’s sovereignty.

In a statement published in X, the prime minister expressed a deep outrage at the attack, which, according to the reports, went to a residential area and endangered the lives of civilians.

“On behalf of the people and the Government of Pakistan, the illegal and atrocious bombardment in Doha for Israeli forces, pointing to a residential area and endangering the lives of innocent civilians,” said Prime Minister Shehbaz.

He extended the most deep ‘sympathies and solidarity of Pakistan when Emir de Qatar, his highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, Qatar’s Royal Family and the people of Qatar during what he described as a difficult time.

Calling the strike “totally unjustified”, the prime minister said that it constituted “a shameless violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Qatar” and warned that such actions represented a serious threat to regional peace and stability.

“Pakistan is firmly with the state of Qatar, as well as with the people of Palestine, against Israel’s aggression,” he added.

The statement occurs when the Israel army said it carried out air attacks aimed at high -ranking leaders in the capital of Qatar on Tuesday.

Qatar said that the Israeli strikes went to the houses of several members of the Hamas political office residing in the Gulf country, where the main leadership of the militant group is based.

The strikes were carried out jointly by the Army and the Shin Bet security agency, the two agencies said in a statement.

Neither Israeli officials nor national media have confirmed whether the attacks reached their planned objectives. Hamas has not commented on the fate of its leaders either.
