Islamabad:
Pakistan unequivocally condemned the recent assault of the Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli ministers, accompanied by groups of settlers and protected by the Israeli police.
“This sacrilege against one of the most sacred sites of Islam is not only an affront to the faith of more than one billion Muslims, but also a direct assault on international law and the collective conscience of humanity,” wrote Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in his timeline X.

He said that such systematic provocations of occupying power, along with calls reckless for annexation, prevent peace perspectives.
The prime minister said that the shameless actions of Israel were deliberately inflamed the tensions in Palestine and the region in general, pushing the Middle East closer to greater instability and conflict.
“Pakistan reiterates its urgent called to a high immediate fire, the end of all acts of aggression and the rebirth of a credible peace process that leads to an independent and viable state of Palestine, with al-Quds al-Sharif as its capital, under international law and relevant UN resolutions,” added Prime Minister Shehbaz.
Separately, Islamabad has strongly condemned the provocative and deeply offensive desecration of the Al-Aqsa Mosque for thousands of Israeli settlers, including ministers, officials and members of the KNESET, under the protection of the Israeli occupying forces.
In a statement, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shafqat Ali Khan, said that the presence and statements of the senior Israeli officials, and the disgusting statement that “the mountain of the temple is ours”, are a dangerous and deliberate attempt to cause religious feelings throughout the world, climb tensions and alter the state of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
He said that Israel’s expansionist attempts are a deliberate effort to destabilize the region and sabotage any significant path towards peace. These provocations run the risk of lighting a catastrophic spiral of violence throughout the region.
The spokesman emphasized that the world should not remain silent in the face of such a systemic, illegal, inhuman and illegal aggression.
These actions constitute a shameless violation of international human rights and humanitarian laws, the UN Charter, as well as several UN resolutions and the OIC.
He urged the international community, particularly the United Nations, to take immediate and concrete measures to hold Israel for their illegal actions and protect the religious holiness of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the rights of the Palestinian people, in particular the right to self-determination.
The spokesman reaffirmed the unwavering support of Pakistan for the creation of a sovereign, independent, viable and adjoining Palestinian state based on the pre-June 1967 borders, with Al-Quds al-Sharif as its capital.
Previously, Israeli air attacks continued in Gaza, and the Minister of National Security of the extreme right, Itamar Ben-Gvir, directed sentences in the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex in Jerusalem is occupied, causing the condemnation of regional powers.
Ben-Gvir was among approximately 1,250 people who prayed on the site under Israeli military protection.
The complex, known by the Jews as the Mount of the Temple, has a deep religious significance, being the most sacred site of Judaism and the third most sacred in Islam.
It remains in Jordanian custody, and a long data agreement allows Jewish visits, but prohibits prayer.
