PM Shehbaz emphasizes peace, equality in dialogue with India


Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed on Sunday Pakistan’s commitment to peace, stability and progress in the region. He said that Islamabad was prepared to go beyond recent hostilities with India, but insisted that any dialogue should be based on equality and equity.

Speaking at a meeting of Pakistani abroad in London, the prime minister announced that a high fire had entered into force after a four -day military conflict, declaring that Islamabad took reprisals with an adequate response to India for its unfair aggression.

“We want peace, we want progress, we want prosperity and we want the eradication of unemployment in Pakistan,” he said specifically.

Prime Minister Shehbaz emphasized that Pakistan sought peace not only on the battlefield but also through investment and economic associations. “We turn Pakistan into a formidable military force. Now is the time to build an equally strong economy,” he added.

Despite the tensions, the prime minister reiterated that Islamabad had constantly followed the dialogue with New Delhi in long -standing disputes, including cashmere, sharing water, commerce and anti -terrorism.

“I have made this offer many times, and the world knows it,” he said. “We want to sit and talk to you, find a path to follow and address the challenges that have affected our relationship for decades.”

He warned that relationships could not be normalized without solving the Kashmir dispute.

Prime Minister Shehbaz said that Pakistan and India are residents of the region and the good relations between the two nations depend on solving the problems in a friendly and peaceful way through dialogue, not through force.

The prime minister praised the victory of May 10 of Pakistan as a historical milestone that delivered a “powerful message to the enemy.”

“From Karachi to Peshawar, the whole nation bowed in gratitude to God,” he said, added that victory had improved respect for Pakistan’s green passport worldwide.

The prime minister also condemned the violence in progress in Gaza and reiterated the unwavering support of Pakistan to the Palestinian cause. He urged the international community to act to put an end to the suffering of the Palestinians, promising that Pakistan would continue to be a voice for justice in global forums.

He praised the Pakistani abroad as “Pakistan ambassadors” who not only contribute to the economy but also defend the country’s political narrative abroad.

Highlighting his contribution, he revealed that the Pakistani abroad sent a record of $ 38.5 billion in remittances last year, which he described as the backbone of the economy.

As for national challenges, Prime Minister Shehbaz acknowledged the importance of foreign investment and financial aid to stabilize the economy, but urged the nation to fight for self -sufficiency.

“We must get rid of debts and stand up,” he said. “When we make Pakistan a great economic power, the world will listen to us.”

With more than 60 percent of the population that includes young people, requested the development of IT skills, artificial intelligence and vocational training.

Concluding his speech, the prime minister emphasized: “The unity of political and military leadership in search of a common vision of a great Pakistan and that God wants, will make it come true.”
