PM Shehbaz invites the United Kingdom to join neutral investigation in Pahalgam incident

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif firmly rejected India’s attempts to involve Pakistan in the recent incident in Pahalgam, stating that there have been no credible evidence to support the statements, according to the Associated Press of Pakistan.

The prime minister reiterated his call to a transparent, credible and neutral investigation and extended an invitation to the United Kingdom to participate in the process.

During a meeting at the Prime Minister’s house with the British High Commissioner of Pakistan, Jane Marriott, Prime Minister Shehbaz shared Pakistan’s point of view on the regional situation in evolving after Pahalgam’s episode.

He underlined Islamabad’s commitment to regional peace and security, stating that Pakistan would not participate in any activity that could destabilize southern Asia.

Emphasizing the importance of diplomacy and multilateral cooperation, the prime minister urged the United Kingdom, citing his strong bilateral ties with Pakistan and India, to play a constructive role in the ease of regional tensions.

The High Commissioner Marriott expressed his appreciation for the opening of the prime minister by discussing Pakistan’s position and affirmed the United Kingdom’s intention of continuing to relate to both nations in southern Asia to support regional peace and stability.

The meeting also touched Pakistan’s economic priorities, with Prime Minister Shehbaz highlighting his government’s approach to growth and development in collaboration with international partners.
