In a significant step towards the modernization of the Judicial System of Pakistan, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif launched the case allocation and management system on Friday. This initiative aims to provide transparent, efficient and fast justice to litigants throughout the country, Pakistan radio reported.

When heading to the launch event in Islamabad on Friday, the prime minister emphasized that the system was very late, since citizens throughout the country had been asking for more transparent and faster judicial processes.

He expressed the confidence that the new system would contribute greatly to address the complaints of the public, ensuring that justice is delivered in a timely manner.

Prime Minister Shehbaz highlighted the mass waste of resources over the years due to corruption, collusion and lack of modern technological solutions within the judicial system.

He emphasized the need for collective efforts to transform Pakistan and recover the losses incurred in the past, which would eventually lead to future benefits for the country.

Referring to his recent meeting with the president of the president of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi, the prime minister mentioned his request for fast decisions based on merits in pending cases.

Earlier this week, the prime minister had visited the residence of CJP Afridi to discuss the agenda of the next meeting of the National Committee of Judicial Farquía (NJPMC).

In his speech, Prime Minister Shehbaz also promised to recover every penny that is due to Pakistan, ensuring that it would be used for the improvement of the people of the nation.

He thanked all interested parties, including international partners such as the United Nations (UN) and Canada, for their support in the design and provision of financial assistance for the development of the case allocation and management system.

Troels Vester, the country’s representative of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), also spoke at the ceremony, expressing full support to the Pakistani government and the Ministry of Law and Justice to introduce modern technology to improve governance. He praised the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz for leading reforms aimed at modernizing the judicial system of Pakistan.
