Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the head of Army Personnel (COAS), the field marshal, Syed also munir, jointly addressed a great jirga of tribal elderly in the Zehri Auditorium in Quetta, reaffirming the firm resolution of the government to eradicate terrorism and counteract the proxy war sponged in Balochistan.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s office, the Jirga was convened to strengthen the commitment to tribal leadership and address the situation of security in evolution in the province. The statement noted that the main approach was to counteract the destabilizing role of Indian proxies and reinforce the development efforts led by the State.
The prime minister’s office declared that the main Sharif highlighted how terrorist groups, supported and financed by India, have intensified efforts to undermine peace and stability in Baluchistan. He specifically mentioned entities such as “Fitna al-Hindustan” and warned that these groups seek to exploit local complaints and obtain community support, which must be firmly denied.
Citing the prime minister, the statement said: “The enemies of peace will not find space to operate within Pakistan. Our message for them is clear: the government, the armed forces, the agencies of application of the law and the administrative apparatus, with the complete support of the people, will take the struggle of the nation against terrorism with its logical conclusion: the terrorism that defends terrorism in a decisive way.”
The prime minister also declared that Sharif praised the constructive role of tribal elders to preserve the national unity and emphasized the need for a sustained basis commitment to ensure that terrorist groups remain isolated and not supported. In addition, he emphasized that development initiatives must reach the local population to truly empower Baluchistan.
The statement cited the prime minister saying: “We must ensure that the drip effects of government development packages benefit each citizen. The people of Baluchistan have played a historical role in the safeguarding of Pakistan’s integrity, and we have their continuous surveillance against the subversion backed abroad.”
During the interaction, the Munir Marshal also went to the meeting. He said: “This proxy war sponsored by the Indians is no longer hidden: it is an open and malicious act of terrorism out of our people, our progress and our peace.”
He stressed that the Pakistan army has concrete evidence of Indian participation in orchestration and support of terrorist networks within Baluchistan, said the statement.
“Pakistan’s army, with the unwavering support of the nation and the brave people of Baloch, will confront and crush all enemies, foreigners or domestic, who dares to challenge our sovereignty,” the Coas said, according to the statement. He reiterated that peace in Baluchistan is “non -negotiable” and that Pakistan’s future is intrinsically linked to the stability and prosperity of the province.
The Prime Minister also reported that both leaders praised the courage and resistance of security personnel and law enforcement agencies operating in Baluchistan. Prime Minister Sharif assured the martyrs’ families about the full support of the State and promised that those responsible for terrorism, including their facilitators and absensors, would be taken before justice.
The Jirga concluded with a unanimous promise of tribal elders to support the shoulder with the government and the armed forces, reaffirming his commitment to peace, security and development in Baluchistan, the statement added.
Early in the day, Prime Minister Shehbaz visited the command and staff of the University of Quetta, where he addressed the students and members of the Faculty. According to an official statement, the visit stressed the government’s commitment to improve the professionalism and strategic preparation of Pakistan’s defense institutions.
He emphasized the need for operational excellence and strategic forecast against evolving hybrid threats, especially in sensitive regions such as Baluchistan, where representatives sponsored by the Indians try to destabilize the country and hinder national development.
