Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday promised to defend Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity against any future aggression, amid increasing tensions caused by the recent provocative comments of Indian leaders.
In a telephone call with the president of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, the prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the high -fire agreement with India, emphasizing that he remembered in the interest of regional peace.
Shehbaz described Kashmir’s dispute as the central cause of instability in southern Asia and reiterated that her resolution in line with the resolutions of the UN Security Council was essential for lasting peace. He thanked President Aliyev for continuous support and early Azerbaijan to the cause of Kashmir.
The prime minister expressed his gratitude for the solidarity of Azerbaijan during the recent regional crisis, describing the gesture as a sign of lasting friendship and brotherhood between the two nations.
Highlighting the relations of Pakistan-Azerbaijan, Shehbaz called “proven and special” bilateral ties, and said that Pakistan was committed to updating them to a solid economic association. He observed continuous efforts to finish the Azerbaijan investments worth $ 2 billion in several sectors of Pakistan’s economy.
He also extended an invitation to President Aliyev to visit Pakistan, that the Azerbaiyan leader accepted hotly.
President Aliyev congratulated Pakistan for the recent diplomatic successes and welcomed the Alto El Fuego initiative. He reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s resolution to strengthen Pakistan cooperation on political and economic fronts.
