Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Friday that providing relief to the common man in the next budget was the highest priority of his government.
By chairing a meeting on the preparation of the federal budget 2025-26, the prime minister said that all resources will be used to reduce the financial difficulties of the poor and average class.
The prime minister directed that the next budget must be prepared with an approach to sustainable growth driven by export and consider due consideration to projects to promote industries and increase production.
The budget must also focus widely on job creation, agriculture, information technology, small and medium enterprises and the housing sector, he added.
The prime minister said that the government and the private sector must work together for national development and prosperity.
By calling public-private associations and youth vocational training between government priorities, Prime Minister Shehbaz said that positive results of the government’s electricity sector arose, since the reduction of electricity prices for industries would help promote industry and production.
In addition, he said that automation and digitalization were being promoted to bring transparency in the government system and facilitate the business community and investors.
He said the government would continue the rights process to reduce the size of the federal government in the next fiscal year.
During the informative session, attendees were informed that consultations with the private sector on the preparation of the budget had been in process during the last three months, in addition to advisory sessions with the interested parties of several sectors.
The meeting was also reported that the five-year commercial policy framework by 2025-30 and the Electronic Commerce 2.0 framework was completed soon, and a plan for tariff rationalization was also being prepared.
The Delegation of Entrepreneurs and Experts expressed their confidence in the government’s economic policies and presented its suggestions that the prime minister welcomed and directed the inclusion of feasible proposals in the budget.
