PM Shehbaz requires rapid tracking of the Islamabad Technology Park project


Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited the construction technology park in Islamabad on Thursday and expressed dissatisfaction with the slow pace of work, which ordered the authorities to accelerate the construction process and guarantee its completion within the originally stipulated period.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s office, the Premier stressed the strategic importance of the project for Pakistan’s economic and technological development. He stressed that the installation must comply with international standards, both in infrastructure and in services, to fulfill its role provided for in the advance of the country’s digital economy.

“All interested parties must accelerate their efforts to complete the Technology Park as soon as possible,” said Prime Minister Shehbaz during the visit. “This project is fundamental for the growth of the TI sector of Pakistan, the creation of jobs for our young people and the general progress of the national economy.”

The authorities informed the Prime Minister about the scope and characteristics of the project. The installation comprises two basement levels, a ground floor and nine upper floors. It is designed to house office spaces, an incubation center, a commercial support center, research and development laboratories, a level III data center and an auditorium. Provisions for parking space that accommodate up to 1,200 vehicles have also been made.

During the informative session, it was emphasized that the Technology Park is expected to play a key role in creating employment opportunities for young people in the country, promoting Pakistan’s global competitiveness in the IT sector and contributing to sustainable economic growth. The project also aims to close the digital gap and provide a platform for innovation, business spirit and research.

The prime minister reiterated his government’s commitment to support the technology industry and urged strict adhesion to the deadlines. He asked for a better coordination between all interested departments and ordered that regular progress reports be presented to the Prime Minister’s office.

“There is no room for delays in such important projects at the national level,” he said. “We are investing in the future of Pakistan. A avant -garde technology park will not only attract foreign investment, but will also help take advantage of the potential of our talented young people.”
