Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, on Friday asked the end of terrorism, economic instability and internal divisions in Pakistan, highlighting that the sacrifice of national interest in personal gain is a betrayal of the sacrifices won with so much effort of the country.

Going to the event “Rab-e-Zuljalal Ka Ehsan, Pakistan” in Islamabad on Friday, the prime minister urged people in all areas of life to present themselves and play their role in addressing the economic, social and security challenges of the country, said Express News.

“Today, Pakistan’s army is once again to eliminate terrorism, however, our nation remains divided, full of religious hatred, ethnic divisions and the prioritization of personal ambitions on national interest,” he said, and added: “Such a thought is an act of unfair.”

When reflecting on the sacrifices made for the independence and stability of Pakistan, Prime Minister Shehbaz lamented that the country still fights with internal discord. “Instead of witnessing progress and prosperity, we see a fragmented nation where individual dreams have cost of national unity, honor and stability,” he said.

He emphasized the need for a national collective decision to set aside egos and personal desires in favor of Pakistan’s greatest interest. “There can be no greater service to Pakistan than to present our egos and ambitions to the will of the nation,” he added.

Highlighting the status of Pakistan as nuclear energy, Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed his gratitude to God for the country’s atomic capacity, reached in 1998.

“Either an eternal enemy or a nearby adversary, Allah has blessed this nation not only with a brave army but also with a nuclear force,” he said. “If someone dares to throw us an evil eye, this nation will crush them.”

The prime minister urged national reconciliation, unity and burial of political differences to help Pakistan recover his legitimate place in the world. He also stressed that Pakistan was not founded to remain depending on foreign loans.

“We must turn Pakistan into an economic strength,” he said, warning that political independence does not make sense without economic freedom.

Citing the Constitution, the prime minister indicated that the State is obliged to allow citizens to take their lives in accordance with Islamic principles, and no law that contradicts the Qur’an and Sunnah can be made.

He stressed that Pakistan must follow the difficult path taken by all successful nations if he wants to stand and become an economic power.

“If we advance together, this country will not only exceed its neighbors in a few years, but will also fulfill the vision of Quaid-E-Azam,” he said.

The prime minister also expressed solidarity with the people of Palestine and India, illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmira, condemning the actions of the occupation forces.

“Israel has once again violated fire and resumed its brutal genocide of Palestinians. More than 50,000 Palestinians have been martyred, this is pure oppression beyond human resistance,” he said.

Prime Minister Shehbaz reaffirmed the unwavering support of Pakistan for the people of Palestine and Kashmir. “Until they reach freedom, the 240 million Pakistani will continue standing with them. We pray for Allah to grant our brothers and sisters oppressed in the occupied regions.”
