Pm susceptible to conversations with ‘deceived people’ in Baluchistan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that he is willing to sit on the other side of the table with “those who have been deceived … who have been lost” in Baluchistan, while committed to deliver “social and economic justice” to the people of the province, which has been caught in a spiral of mortal violence since 2006.

The Prime Minister also announced that RS1,000 billion will be assigned to the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) this year, with 25 percent, or RS250 billion, for Baluchistan.

He assured that each penny of the party, which described the “right of the people of Baluchistan”, would be transparently spent for the progress and prosperity of the province.

The prime minister also recalled that Punjab had agreed to grant part of his participation in the Prize of the National Finance Commission (NFC) to Baluchistan in view of his development needs, since the province is the largest in terms of area.

“In today’s value, deviated funds to Baluchistan amount to RS160 billion,” he explained.

The NFC award was signed in Lahore in 2010 after three days of discussions among national leadership, including President Asif Ali Sarta, then Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and Nawaz Sharif, added.

He said that during the mandate of Nawaz Sharif as Prime Minister, many development projects were carried out in Baluchistan and President Sartari had started the Aghaz-E-Haqoq-E-Falochistan package.

Speaking about the recent conflict with India, Prime Minister Shehbaz said that at night between May 6 and 7 and May 10, India attacked Pakistan, but with the grace of Allah, the Armed Forces bravely defeated the enemy, who will remember his defeat forever. He thanked the people of Pakistan for showing unity and standing with his shoulder with Pakistan’s army during the conflict.

“As prime minister, I witnessed all the events of the short -term war,” he said, adding that “as a brave and Sagaz leader, the Syed Field Marshal also led the armed forces of Pakistan to a victory against India and made the nation proud.”

He said that the triumph over India was similar to the revenge of the events of 1971. “Now the enemy is scared and Pakistan’s friendly countries have more confidence after Pakistan’s military victory over India,” he said.
