Islamabad:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif ordered the federal government on Monday to celebrate significant consultations with provincial governments for an effective and comprehensive implementation of the digital transformation plan.
By chairing a weekly review meeting on economics without effective and digital in the Federal Capital, the prime minister said that the digitalization of the economy will help promote transparency.
The main objective of the Federal Government Digital Transformation Plan is to provide ease and convenience to the public at no additional cost, he said, adding that the government was encouraging digital payments and digital fund transfer through policy measures.
All provincial governments, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, should completely cooperate with the federal government regarding the digitalization of the economy and the economy without cash, emphasized the prime minister.
He added that with the cooperation of the provincial governments and institutions, the Federal Government’s digital transformation plan should be further simplified to ensure that the objectives are achieved within the established deadlines.
The significant consultation with all interested parties must be a permanent characteristic of this plan, added the prime minister.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister was told that the National Digital Commission and the Digital Authority of Pakistan had been established, and the necessary rules have been formulated.
The president’s appointment process and the members of the Pakistan digital authority is found in its final stages.
In addition, it was reported that the commercial incorporation framework for digital services was launched on July 25, 2025.
The meeting attended finance ministers, economic matters and IT, among others.
