A recently developed monsoonic system began to affect Karachi during the weekend, with light to moderate rain reported in several suburban areas, since the Department of Meteorology of Pakistan (PMD) predicted generalized rain and storms between Sindh between August 17 and 19.
While the skies were mostly clear and wet on Sunday, light to moderate showers were reported in key locations, including the city of Armejani, New Karachi and Gulan-E-Maymar.
According to the PMD Early Warning Center, tomorrow (Monday) you can see moderate rain with thunder and lightning, while Tuesday it is likely to bring multiple heavy downpours.
“The strong monzónic currents are penetrating most of the parts of Sindh, ensuring generalized rain and thunderstorms with periods of moderate to very strong rain,” the notice said.

A detailed notice indicates that Naushahro Feroze, Dadu, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Khairpur, Shaheed Benazirabad, Hyderabad, Tharparkar and Karachi are more likely to receive minor intermittent rains to heavy until August 19.
An additional rainy activity and Thundershower in Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Larkana, Qambar Shahdokot, Ghotki, Sukkur and Kashmore are expected.
Residents have been warned about the possible interruption of urban floods, flooding in low areas and damage to vulnerable infrastructure, such as mud houses, billboards, electric posts, vehicles and solar panels.
Local farmers are advised to plan their operations based on the prognosis, and the authorities have been urged to remain attentive and take the necessary precautionary measures
