The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) uploaded the new Studies Program for the Admission of Medicine and Dental College (MDCAT) 2025 on its official website on Thursday, which would serve as the central framework for the next exam.
The new curriculum covers five key themes: biology, chemical, physics, English and logical reasoning) with focus on conceptual understanding and critical thinking. The PMDC encouraged students to start their preparations after the newly issued curricular program.
It is likely that the final date of the MDCAT exams will be announced in a couple of days after consultations to admit universities. It is likely that the exams will be held on the last Sunday of September or on the first Sunday of October 2025.
The exam will consist of a total of 180 multiple choice questions (MCQS), categorized as 15% easy, 70% moderate and 15% difficult, which would be answered in three hours, said a statement, while defining the structure, weight and difficulty levels for the exam. “A negative marking will not apply.”
According to the statement, candidates must reach a minimum of 55% of qualifications to qualify for admission to medical universities and 50% of brands for admission to dental universities.
